I managed Epic software by enhancing patient participation and making operations run smoothly. I recorded emergency patients in need of urgent medical attention, Developed excellent communication and negotiation skills between patients and guarantors. Lastly, Oversaw all billing and collection duties by requesting the appropriate CPT codes from insurance.

I worked with a Neurologist that oversaw patients with Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia. I learned about Deep Brain Simulation and managed patient assessments. I updated digital data from EMR and EPIC to SharePoint and Excel; Inputted patients’ DOB, DOS, MRN, video of assessments, attending, etc. for an ongoing project. Lastly, I adhered to HIPAA and Harassment, compliance, and privacy standards.

Hico Health targets the marginalized underrepresented group of people (people of color - blacks and Hispanics). Their mission focuses on Hypertension, Obesity, Diabetes, and Pre-diabetes. Through the app, you can measure your steps, nutrition, weight, statistics, and tips for a healthier lifestyle. My role in this internship was finding Rural Health Clinics in the southern part of the U.S, such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Florida. Our purpose is to contact these rural health clinic and provide them with the government assistance they are qualified for.

In this amazing industry, I learned how to engineer multiple robot projects. I reconstructed any malfunctioning projects and taught students of ages five to eight how to make a circuit and their own robot!
