My 7-year career at Tiger Brands has spanned across being a Finance Director of the biggest business within the Consumer Division (Culinary), to the Portfolio Finance Director of the Consumer Division, to the Interim CFO, and my more recent appointment as the Operations and Strategic Finance Director of Tiger Brands. This role has allowed me to explore more of the value-adding business partnering side of the finance function. This led to me being given the opportunity to partner with business and management, to deliver on overall company operational and strategic goals. I am energised by solving operational and strategic challenges, especially longer-term strategic decisions on business rationalisation or investment into adjacencies or white space. Tiger Brands is one of Africa's largest, listed FMCG manufacturers and distributes brands spanning food, home and personal care and baby products. In South Africa, it has leading market shares across a broad range of categories and has grown over the years through acquisitions and by developing its brands. The Culinary Division is a significant part of Tiger Brands business generating over R6 billion in turnover. It houses most of the Groups iconic brands, KOO, All Gold, Black Cat, Cross & Blackwell, Mrs Balls, Colmans, Ice Cap, Spray and Cook, Hugo's etc. The division has over 7 factories and sales teams throughout the country. The Consumer Division comprises of Culinary, Home and Personal Care, Baby Nutrition and Wellbeing, Snacks and Treats, Beverages and Langerberg and Ashton Foods.

I was the CFO of Kelloggs Sub Saharan Africa, managing the finance and IT functions for both SA and Africa. Kelloggs is expanding into the rest of Africa, through both organic growth and acquisition. Kelloggs is a multinational company with the parent company in the US. The regions within the global organisation are North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Kelloggs Sub Saharan Africa falls under the Asia Pacific region.

The Aberdare Cables Group has operations in South Africa and Internationally based in Spain, Portugal, Namibia and Mozambique. There are also other various investments and JV's. As Financial Director I oversaw the finance management of all the various companies. Ensuring the businesses were well run organisations, fully compliant in all regards especially corporate governance, legal requirements and the relevant accounting standards.

During my tenure at SAB, I was fortunate enough to work in various finance positions. Starting from Projects Finance Manager at head office, Finance Manager at Coleus Packaging ,Finance Manager at ABI Midrand and finally Finance Manager at Egoli Region Gauteng.

Completed my training contract/articles at the Durban office from 1997 to 1999. Then went onto the Global Development programme for 2 years based in Houston Texas as an audit supervisor.Returned to SA in 2001 as audit manager in the Jhb Entrepreneurial Services Division.
