I plan the editorial direction of our columns and features, and work with contributors to bring the vision to life through recruiting, assigning, editing and publishing. I head up a team of editors responsible for all of the sites' contributed content.

I'm an investor and partner in a small business operated by my husband, Michael Caird. The Knitting Mill LLC is a U.S.-based knitwear manufacturing facility which focuses primarily on accessories -- hats, gloves, scarves, socks and blankets. The company knits with Shima Seiki whole garment technology and has experience with a wide variety of yarns, from alpaca to buffalo to cashmere to cotton.

I work with Federated Media's cadre of authors to help them maximize revenues from their sites and work more smoothly with the company. I help evaluate, recruit and bring aboard new authors while managing the relationships with existing authors. FM is a media startup in the blogging/social media space which is privately funded by founder John Battelle, Omidyar, and the NYT, among others.

I covered the ever-changing world of interactive marketing and advertising as a reporter/writer/editor and columnist. Because our coverage area was very broad, I followed everything from e-mail marketing to online advertising to buzz marketing to search. I supervised a staff of reporters and worked with them to ensure our news coverage was cutting edge, responsive to our audience, and breaking.

I worked with Tom Watson and Jason Chervokas writing weekly feature stories and news for this pioneering Silicon Alley publication. I also did everything from coding HTML, to helping with search engine optimization, to selling a few interactive ads. The best part of the gig was getting to know the entrepreneurs, VCs and other industry players working to build Internet-based businesses in NYC.

I was a writer, reporter and editor at this all-news/talk/sports radio station in Houston (#10 DMA).

I managed a radio station and a custom recording division at this non-profit devoted to serving legally blind people. Our programming, produced solely by a cadre of more than 200 volunteers who I helped manage, consisted of readings of newspapers, magazines and books. The custom recordings were often textbooks that helped sight-impaired people attain higher education. My tenure came at a time when Taping was morphing into a much more formal and professional organization, and therefore I helped codify (through procedures, training, etc.) our workings.
