Staff Assistant to The Speaker/Personal Assistant to Speaker’s Administrative Assistant responsible for coordination and management of Speaker’s statutory appointments to federal government Boards of Visitors, Boards, Commissions, Councils and Interparliamentary Groups; representing Speaker on official Congressional Delegation overseas meetings to France, India, Singapore, Egypt, and Japan; House floor attendance to monitor floor action on legislation; responding to Member and staff inquiries on legislative business of the House of Representatives; maintaining contact with House of Representatives Democratic and Republican Leadership staff on legislative agenda; tracking progress of bills through committee process via House Committee staff contacts; maintaining contact with Department and Agency Congressional Liaison offices on constituent casework and miscellaneous informational inquiries; researching special projects; drafting and preparation of correspondence and other miscellaneous secretarial functions; managing and coordinating constituent and distinguished visitors’ Washington tour itineraries; assisting Speaker’s secretary with official receptions and dinners; greeting Members of Congress, foreign heads of state, Ambassadors, constituents and other visitors to the Office of The Speaker, U.S. House of Representatives.
