About Pamela Risnes

My career involves people. People who come from different cultures, who speak different languages, and who celebrate different holidays. I am passionate about people who dare to leave their homeland behind and explore a new country and way of life. My greatest satisfaction is assisting someone successfully navigating U.S. Immigration laws and regulations. I believe that diversity brings new knowledge and understanding and creates a more caring community.The person behind this profile is a Sociology Ph.D. candidate at George Mason University who has completed a study abroad/service learning experience in Nicaragua's Gigante, San Juan del Sur, and Managua, and who studied Spanish linguistics and history at La Fundacíon Ortega Y Gassét in Toledo, Spain. I am an education enthusiast and enjoy teaching college-aged students as well as adult English language learners. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dogs, swimming, and reading books.I grew up in Minneapolis, MN, journeyed to Washington, D.C. for a new job and experience, and relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to support my family and pursue new employment.
