Responsible for all aspects of coordination of patient evaluation for advanced heart failure therapies from referral through listing for transplant or ventricular assist device placement while maintaining effective use of hospital and clinical resources.Provide initial education and continually assesses need for ongoing education to patient and families.

Provide direct care of the TICU patient, including management of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias and the therapeutic interventions,, vasoactive drug therapy, and patients with long term stable ventricular assist devices(VAD), and patients being treated for rejection of their transplanted hearts.

• Manage general patient activities including monitoring I.V. conscious sedation cases
• Serve as emergency team member
• Teach and Monitor all dental students and residents adherence to practice of infection control and total patient management throughout all surgical procedures
• Maintain inventory to ensure adequate supplies, medications and instruments
• Provide first-aid care to students, faculty, and staff to include attainment of medical/social histories; refer individuals to general practitioners or specialists as necessary; arrange for required laboratory tests.
• Organize and provide all Hepatitis B, influenza vaccines and tuberculin skin testing.
