I conduct workplace investigations and regularly train employers on topics including supervisor training, ADA compliance, how to implement an effective anti-harassment and anti-discrimination culture, and how to conduct their own internal workplace investigation. I continue to stay on top of the latest policies and procedures impacting employers, including issues related to COVID-19. This includes disaster/pandemic preparedness, new paid leave obligations, and returning employees to work following a furlough or closure. I have been litigating cases in Idaho state and federal courts since 2001 and have represented employers from around the country against claims encompassing a variety of employment laws, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation/whistle-blowing, non-compete, wrongful termination, FLSA, FMLA and ADA. I have tried cases in both state and federal court, have defended employers in arbitration proceedings, and regularly help employers resolve claims through mediation. In addition to my employment litigation practice, I also regularly counsel employers on how to avoid litigation on topics related to discipline, termination, retaliation, internal policies and procedures, and evolving (and complex) laws such as the FLSA, ADA, and FMLA.
