I am a seasoned geo-spatial researcher with over 15 years of experience focused on the intricate coastal ecosystem. My multifaceted research interests encompass a wide range of critical areas. These include leading Blue Carbon projects, which involve the comprehensive mapping of mangroves, seagrasses, and tidal marshes, coupled with precise estimations of carbon stocks and credits. I specialize in employing cutting-edge techniques, such as satellite imagery, machine learning algorithms, and field spectroscopy, for detailed mangrove community mapping and species discrimination studies. Additionally, I leverage the power of Google Earth Engine and machine learning to conduct seagrass mapping and density assessments. My research extends to estimating the net canopy photosynthetic rate of mangrove forests, shedding light on their carbon sequestration potential. I am also deeply committed to monitoring land use and land cover changes, as well as environmental degradation, through the analysis of temporal satellite images in ecologically sensitive coastal areas. Beyond remote sensing, I conduct extensive on-field studies to assess flora species diversity and evaluate coastal vegetation health. I further utilize hyperspectral analysis, spectroradiometers, and density mapping techniques to discriminate between coastal plant species and characterize their habitats. Moreover, I am dedicated to conducting ecological assessments and formulating comprehensive environmental management plans. My responsibilities extend to undertaking Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies for construction projects, ensuring a balance between development and conservation.
