Scrum Master

Bp

Perth, Western Australia, Australia

The Kwinana Refinery processes 150,000 barrels of oil per day. In this role, I shared the responsibility to ensure the integrity of the equipment throughout the plant. My position changed from an integrity role to a maintenance improvement role in August. My highlights in this role are:- Led Maintenance Transformation teams. As a trained scrum master I led teams of 6-10 people using the Agile project management approach. Maintenance Transformation was an improvement project to improve the efficiencies between each steps of the Maintenance system. There was an immediate improvement in the Maintenance system which revolved around setting expectations and culture change.- Singlehandedly managed the emptying of the slops tank at the Refinery which was an 8-year issue. There have been multiple attempts to empty the tank which were not successful. To complete the task, I had to influence stakeholders and drive the execution, engineering, coordination and challenged the status quo. Emptying this tank saved the Refinery $5m.- Responsible for Statutory Inspection Deferrals. Leading a team of ten engineers to defer the inspections of 200+ pressure equipment as a result of the Turnaround rescheduling. This involved setting expectations with the team members and tracking the progress to ensure the deadline for the project was met. I chaired regular team update meetings and managed resources and the workload of team members due to personnel movements and breakdowns in the Refinery.- After the announcement of the refinery shutdown, I joined an engagement team to improve morale across the site. The aim of the program was to keep the remaining personnel engaged and safe due to the nature of operating a Major Hazard Facility.
