About Adrian Pang
I am a year 3 student in the University of Hong Kong's interdisciplinary BASc(Global Health and Development) programme (hosted at the School of Public Health, LKS Faculty of Medicine) while pursuing a second major in Psychology. I am also actively taking part in research projects and looking for opportunities in psychological and sleep health research or other internships.I have a keen interest towards topics like inequality in society, our health, environmental and sustainable development studies. During secondary school years, I steered my school's flagship territory-wide primary school STREAM education initiative for two years and administered school student bodies of the discipline team, school history and gifted education team and took an active role in the environmental protection team. I was named one of the 2021 Hong Kong Outstanding Teens and was twice commended by the Education Bureau as an Outstanding Student Environmental Protection Ambassador.I endeavour to promote equality for underprivileged and underrepresented groups in society including ethnic minorities and enhance their upward social mobility. Undertook a six-week attachment at the ISEH for the research project titled "Menstrual cycle phase and biomechanics in female footballers: a pilot study" (UCL REC Project Approval No. 25759/001) under the supervision of Dr Jo M Blodgett (UCL) and Dr Ryan SL Au Yeung (HKU). This overseas research attachment* was funded by the Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarship. - Assisted with pilot study design and early-stage setup, including baseline questionnaire and materials development- Developed a full pilot study protocol on (1) biomechanics testing (double and single leg squats and jump-landing tests with the Landing Error Scoring System) and (2) ovulation tracking; with a designated integrated participant management portal- Piloted data collection with OpenCap, an open-source cloud-computed platform that estimates movement dynamics and kinematics with smartphone videos on fieldwork training settings with a FA WNL Division One team of 20 participants (>100 trials)- Analysed baseline data with R and working on future journal publication with the ISEH team since Aug 2023*On-site research attachment from mid-June to late-July 2023.
