MarketBox is "Shopify for Services", a B2C SaaS based product that streamlines and automates sales, people management and customer management all in one place. Previously, I was Principal Architect at Stericycle Communication Solutions where I led the development teams in transforming legacy software products into a scalable cloud based serverless architecture on Microsoft Azure platform.I have total of 23 years of experience in architecting, designing and developing various kinds of applications including CRM, Airline booking, large scale authentication and authorization frameworks, AWS and Azure cloud based SaaS applications. I have extensive experience in developing online transaction systems like medical appointment bookings, service appointment bookings, booking airline tickets, purchase mobile phones and mobile service plans. I have integrated software systems with EMRs like EPIC and Cerner by successfully leading the rigorous certification process stipulated by EPIC and Cerner. I have developed scalable applications that communicate over Voice and Text (SMS) using a cloud based communication platform like Twilio.My primary technical skills are AWS, DynamoDB, Docker, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, JavaScript, React, Redux, GraphQL, C#, J2EE, SOA, WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and JMS. MarketBox caters to services-based businesses who have a geographically dispersed pool of services providers. MarketBox allows such businesses to build an online booking flow which is used by the business’s customers to choose the services and the Service Providers they want to order the service from. The MarketBox platform intelligently suggests the appropriate available Service Providers based on their location, skills, schedule, customer rating and booking acceptance rate.Responsibilities:● Reported to the CTO about architectural decisions made or to be made, platform development priorities, planning and estimation the development of major features. ● Developed the booking flow using React, React Hooks, Material UI and AWS Amplify Framework.● Designed the DynamoDB tables for storing that data used by the platform.● Designed the REST API used by the MarketBox Booking Flow, MarketBox Admin App and MarketBox mobile app to access MarketBox data and MarketBox business functionality.● Designed and developed DynamoDB to Elasticsearch data synchronization process using DynamoDB streams, AWS Lambda and Elasticsearch API.● Designed and developed documents’ schema to be indexed in Elasticsearch to enable the search of Service Providers of a business in the booking flow.● Designed and developed the core feature of ‘Acceptance based booking’ where a service booking request made by an online client was sent to matching Service Providers and the first Service Provider who accepted the booking got the booking. This feature was developed as an orchestration of serverless backend asynchronous functions using DynamoDB streams, AWS Lambda, Twilio SMS, AWS SES. ● Designed and developed MarketBox platform’s integration with Stripe Payment Gateway using Stripe Connect.

Principal ArchitectStericycle Communication Solutions Sep 2014 - Sep 2019TorontoI led the development of a SaaS based Medical Appointment Reminder Service that sent reminders to patients using voice, SMS and email about their upcoming appointments. I successfully delivered a challenging custom development of a voice communication platform for CVS pharmacy that supports stringent SLA that ensures CVS remains compliant with US health care regulations related to drug prescription insurance approvals. For InQuicker product, which is an online health care appointment booking platform, I architected API based bidirectional integrations with Electronic Health Record products like Epic and Cerner to enable booking medical appointments directly into customers’ EHR from InQuicker’s online system. I prepared and presented all the documentation to Epic and Cerner and led enhancements in the InQuicker product to meet all the Epic and Cener’s security and performance compliance requirements to get InQuicker Application listed in their respective marketplaces (https://apporchard.epic.com/Gallery?id=1112 and https://code.cerner.com/apps/inquicker) as a certified solution for integrated online appointment booking.Responsibilities:● Owned the architecture of the products.● Defined the architecture roadmap for migration of monolithic components to cloud technologies to ensure scalability, stability, and performance.● Designed the bidirectional appointment booking and scheduling integration with Epic and Cerner using Docker, AWS Elastic Container Service and AWS Application Load Balancer.● Led the migration of VM based components and services to Cloud based Serverless technologies like Azure WebApp, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Web Workers etc.● Guided and led discussions with the development team to design system components● Ensured that the security concerns like data privacy, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliance, PCI DSS compliance are addressed in the software design.
