Graphic Designer
Responsible for the creation of rug and coordinating cushion designs from concept to finished product for in house samples and clients, while respecting product, print, colour, and trend guide restrictions. - Trend, print, and colour research and forecasting, and staying up to date with Home Fashion trends.- Working closely with the Creative Director and design team to develop mood boards and seasonal themes for in house showroom collections. As well as selecting new yarn colours for in house quality rugs. - Creating prints for in house designs that showcase seasonal themes.- Attending buyer meetings and working with the sales team to discuss rug qualities, creating and selecting appropriate prints based on trends, themes from mood boards, and direction/feedback provided. Creating presentations for buyers and clients with a great product assortment of rug designs for stores.- Ordering samples of designs selected by Creative Director or buyers, while respecting factory sampling and shipping time. Ensuring samples arrive in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met.- Sample checking. Assessing and approving design samples from oversea manufacturers and in house factory. Ensuring samples are perfect and Pantone colours are correct, and quality and design standards are met.- Communicating with suppliers to provide feedback when samples are incorrect or need to be revised.- Bringing flat artwork into MIRA software and preparing the design files to make ready for loom production. Development of new product and rug qualities to create new looks and aesthetics.Required to have a keen eye for colour, texture, pattern, and great attention to detail.
