Panmela Castro is a visual artist whose driving force is affection, relationships of otherness and a sense of belonging. Her practice encompasses performance studies and unfolds in various media, such as painting, sculpture, installation, video and photography, unified by the idea as a common element in her production. Her works are present in the main collections in Brazil and also in international collections. With a master's degree in Contemporary Artistic Processes from UERJ and as a postgraduate student on the Human Rights, Responsibility and Global Citizenship course at PUCRS, Panmela is internationally recognized for her activism in the fight against domestic violence in her human rights institution entitled Rede NAMI.
