Since January 2013, MATHS DANCE has been training teachers across the UK and other European countries on how to merge mathematics, dance and other subjects bringing creativity into learning. MATHS DANCE also holds school workshops enriching the students’ whole educational experience. As the Managing Director of MATHS DANCE, I oversee and ensure the delivery of educational programmes and artistic projects. I am responsible for coordinating work and manage a diverse and interdisciplinary team of professionals, artists and volunteers, overseeing the day-to-day running of the different projects and ensuring they are well devised and delivered and adequately administered.

Since February 2014, I have been coordinating the maths learning enrichment provision for students across the prep school. I have introduced and have been applying a multisensory and kinaesthetic approach to maths teaching and learning, aiming to encourage creativity and promote mathematical thinking. My main duties include training the teachers on differentiation in maths lessons, supporting students with specific learning difficulties in maths across the school (Y1 - Y8), teaching in Y8, running enrichment programmes for the more able students and running informative workshops on numeracy for parents.

In Barnes Primary School I had been supporting students with specific learning difficulties in maths across the school, in large or smaller groups or on an one-to-one basis (inside or outside the classroom). During the 2012 Spring and Summer Terms and 2013 Autumn Term I had been leading an initiative called ‘The Sky’s the Limit’ which was instigated and designed to challenge and support the school’s most capable and highest performing Y6 pupils in Mathematics. As a result, 28% of the Y6 students achieved a Level 6 in Mathematics in 2012 (11% more than 2011) and an impressive 42% in 2013.
