My name is Paola, I'm 25 years old and I am currently working as a fundraising intern (Middle Donors & PMI) at Save the Children Italia.After graduating with honors from the University of Florence in "Economic Development, Socio-Sanitary International Cooperation and Conflict Management," I continued my studies, specializing in "Development and International Cooperation Sciences" in Rome, where I graduated cum laude.My greatest passion lies in the social and non-profit sectors, a curiosity that was sparked during my university studies and has been nurtured through my extensive volunteering experiences both in Italy and abroad.As an associate member of Amka, a non-profit organization based in Rome, I have participated in on-the-ground volunteer projects in Africa (Democratic Republic of Congo). Currently, I am volunteering with 'Doctors without Borders,' assisting migrants with bureaucratic processes to receive healthcare at the Sportello HOPE.These experiences, coupled with my academic background, have equipped me with a diverse set of skills: problem-solving, team building, meeting deadlines, organizational abilities, flexibility, and empathy.One thing is clear to me: through my work, I aim to champion the rights of those who are systematically denied them, regardless of the reason. My journey in the fundraising world is driven by the desire to create lasting, positive change for the most vulnerable communities.
