I am an organic chemist as well as the founder of a French startup Called “Quibiotic”.After defending my PhD in 2008 I worked for more than 7 years as postdoctoral researcher in Europe (UK and France). During this experience I dedicated my energy in the synthesis and characterization of many different molecules (small and bulky) always aiming to a possible application in drug discovery. Passionate about the development of innovative products with pharmacological applications, in 2016, I decided to independently purse my research focused on the idea to reshape b-lactam scaffolds to produce novel hybrids as potential therapeutic agents. This project led to three patents (2016, 2018 and 2020) granted in Eu and US. So far, in 2021, I founded Quibiotic: a French startup that was awarded with a subvention of 30K from in 2022. At present many new hybrids have been synthesized and “in vitro” tested against major carbapenamases. Some molecules show in vitro inhibition activity against KPC-2 and NMD-1 and few of them are active at nanomolar concentration especially on the metallo beta-lactamases family.With the help of skilled scientist and business developers I would like to bring such project to another level of maturity. I am always ready to learn, and I can still feel the passion for new discoveries.
