Paolo has over fifteen years of experience in transportation planning and traffic operations, principally in the field of modelling, which includes the application and development of macroscopic models in CUBE Voyager, and the use of macroscopic, mesoscopic and microscopic levels in Aimsun.He has technically managed multi-disciplined projects with traffic modelling, engineering and economic components.His international experience includes methodology scoping and advisory roles for government agencies in New York and Toronto, where he supported the development of multi-level modelling frameworks and provided guidance on their implementation and delivery.Paolo joined TSS, the company developing Aimsun, in 2008 as consultant. He has worked on building and calibrating several microscopic and mesoscopic traffic models. He has also given numerous Aimsun training courses and has been involved in defining the user requirements for Aimsun features.In 2011 and 2012 he was temporary moved to New York to start TSS’ office in USA. As project manager he contributed to the development of a number of large-scale traffic simulation models and provided Aimsun specialist support in North America.Prior to joining TSS, Paolo was a partner at Redas Italia, an Italian transportation consulting company, where he developed transportation plans for Italian towns and worked on mobility data collection and traffic impact assessment studies for new developments using demand modelling and microscopic simulation software.His expertise includes programming Python scripts and C++ plugins to import data, to assist calibration, to emulate ITS systems and to post-process simulation outputs calculating performance indicators.
