Indicative ProjectsEuropean Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP):This project's objective was to maintain, research and develop technologiesfor communicating quantitative and qualitative information relevant to theskills and labour markets into the form of useful intelligence, supporting theemployment, education and training policies in Europe. The websiteconsolidates and amalgamates datasets from various EU sources, enablingstakeholders to gain insights, combine and visualise information, throughcustomised interactive views and reports. Technical implementationincluded maintaining the existing code base, undertake the datamanagement work flows, de duplicate code as well as to pinpointfundamental flows of the system towards designing and developing adocker-ised R-based framework employing leading opensource softwareand tools orchestrated and organised to tackle the majority of theshortcomings and problems identified. Via the Dsense frameworkdeveloped, more than 2.5 million of indicator observations were managed,maintained and visualised with more than 900 interactive visualisationsarranged to a plethora of dashboards. Using the framework a data drivencontent based recommendation system utilising natural languageprocessing algorithms and word embeddings was developed computing thedocuments inter-distance and combining it with the temporal userinformation towards maximising the content discover-ability of the site by itsusers. Moreover, for the SLA, site uptime data collection, analysis andreporting was developed via the data framework developed. The dataprocessing and visualisation API is integrated with Drupal (or any otherCMS) and produces a wide range (40) of customisable visualisations (e.g.maps, bar charts, country comparisons, time series, tables etc.) and othercomponents interactively composing dashboards into single pageapplications
