I'm a Mechanical Engineer aspiring to design complex electromechanical systems and strategies to control them. Currently, I'm working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Friesen Haptics Lab. My research interest is to develop wearable devices for perception of virtual textures in VR via vibrotactile feedback.Being able to decompose a big problem and understand the events (at least qualitatively) using a pen, a paper, and clarity of fundamentals, is deeply gratifying to me. I believe that studying advanced courses in my current program would put me in a framework to think innovatively and solve complex problems.Previously, I worked for four years in the Pedestrian Safety Test Labs of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). The team's goal is to execute destructive tests and ensure that all automobile models of the company are safe for pedestrians - meaning that in the event of a collision with the car, the pedestrian mustn't have fatal head injuries or debilitating leg injuries. While the nature of the work itself was my drive, I was also motivated by the potential impact of saving thousands of lives on Indian roads.
