* Developed the new website https://hivekind.com/ in Next.js: During the name change (from Rapid River Software to Hivekind) we needed a new website both to celebrate the name change as well as to add functionality that wasn't in the old website. We also wanted to modernize our website to reflect how we do things for our clients, effectively dogfooding our own workflows.

Essayjack is a Ruby, Rails, and React based application that helps students prepare for and write their essays, guiding them with prompts and templates to ensure that the essays written are well structured and coherent. It started as a smaller MVP application in 2015 until it grew both in terms of features as well as market-base.Students writing on the Essayjack platform have their essays saved in realtime, and part of the work required involved handling hundreds of students concurrently writing their essays. The team not only dealt purely with application side development, but also had (among other things) devops-related efforts involving database optimization, job and queue management, and request-response codepath reduction.I've worked as the software developer team lead up until they were acquired. We were an agile team with very close communication with the stakeholder and a lot of prioritization and scope negotiation in order to deliver our users the maximum value at that point in time.
