- Simulation of quantum circuits using conventional computers can lead to an exponential growth of memory requirement based on Qubit count. One idea to mitigate this problem is to use efficient data structures, such as matrix decision diagrams, that can leverage data redundancies to offer compression without sacrificing computational complexity.- Continuing an earlier course project, I worked on further memory optimization by adding new redundant pattern detection to the Munich Quantum Toolkit C++ library for quantum circuit simulation at the chair for design automation- This work utilized modern C++ conventions such as operator overloading and pointer manipulation for the direct storage of data (unused pointer bits)
