Thesis Title- Identification of Microsatellites for Dalbergia sissoo.Project Description- Dalbergia sissoo or Shisham, being one of the most valuable timber species, its conservation becomes an important consideration. With the utilization of DNA polymorphisms as molecular markers which allows for genetic characterization and improvement in forest species. Therefore, this project deals with the identification of novel Microsatellite markers for Shisham so as to further utilise them for determination of its genetic diversity and conservation management.•Skills acquired- DNA extraction, DNA quantification using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Gel Electrophoresis, Polymerase Chain Reaction, PCR primer design.

Training report title- Quality Assurance and Overview of Manufacturing Process of Beer.Description- Gained thorough knowledge on the biochemistry of fermentation and significance of yeast in preparation of beer in the fermentation tanks and performed the microbiological analysis of beer under the microbiology laboratory. Worked and obtained hands-on experience on equipments and techniques for robust quality analysis for various parameters. Other Key study areas include - Brewing and manufacturing of beer, Effluent Treatment, Sludge Blanket Process, Ultra-filtration, Fermentation, Microbiology of Beer, Quality Analysis.

Training report title- Medical drug formulation & study of its pharmacological activities.Description- Developed a herbal formulation with an eco-friendly approach which resulted in conversion of a waste product into a formulation ingredient. Performed phytochemical screening for the selected herb so as to carry out the qualitative analysis of plant secondary metabolites. Carried out comparative studies of antimicrobial activity, antioxidant activity and adsorption potential for the prepared compound.Skills acquired- Phytochemical screening, Chromatography, Streak plating, DPPH assay.
