This role consisted of working closely with two attorneys and the investigations supervisor within Georgetown Law's Criminal Justice Clinic. I assisted with research and pre-trial investigation, drafted memoranda, drafted and served subpoenas, met with clients and witnesses, helped with Compassionate Release and IRAA case preparation, gathered and summarized records, reviewed CCTV and police body-worn-camera footage, and met with post-conviction release clients to connect them with resources. Additionally, administrative responsibilities such as locating, collecting, reviewing, and summarizing all written records and documentation relevant to cases along with helping the attorneys with last-minute and live trial preparation were part of the role.

I worked as a legislative intern in the office of Congressman Gerry Connolly (VA-11). This role consisted of legislative research, assisting constituents and legislative staffers, and working through administrative responsibilities.

I was 1 of 30 individuals within CDN's NextGen Fellowship program in which my focus was on initiatives that can be taken towards strengthening community health and patient advocacy. I additionally attended the 2022 National Conference for the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists in Baltimore, MD as one of the representatives for CDN.

I worked in the department of maternal fetal medicine which is concerned with the care for high-risk pregnancy patients. The maternal fetal medicine department at UVA has multiple ongoing clinical in which my role was to process the data that is obtained from these trials, which primarily consisted of completing comprehensive patient medical chart reviews. The experience provided exposure to the clinical setting, and allowed me to work side by side with the clinical research coordinators and assist them with the recruitment of patients. It has reinforced how important certain factors are for research, such as ensuring patient consent as well as maintaining the accuracy of data.

In this position I served as a mentor to first year students within the New College Curriculum at UVA. I was assigned a group of students to assist in their class experience and help foster a sense of belonging at UVA during the COVID-19 pandemic
