An educational entrepreneur, I am passionate about the knowledge-building movement and how essential it is that all children receive an equitable education. Throughout my career, I have spearheaded rapid program growth for progressive education curricula. By utilizing strategic messaging, I unite stakeholders behind a common mission. I know how to build buy-in, dissolve resistance, and inspire others to enthusiastically embrace new methodologies and take action. My career began at Leo Burnett, where I learned the art of messaging and brand strategy while working on key accounts. As an Account Planner, I considered myself a translator between the clients, consumers, and creatives. I reached each stakeholder group by using stories to make content more meaningful. Choosing the right words and using them in the right sequence is like a logic puzzle, one that I uniquely know how to solve. Following Leo Burnett, I founded Orion's Mind, an educational services company that served at-risk youth. I grew my company from one pilot program in Chicago to support 40k students in more than 300 schools in five states. Not only did I serve as CEO, as the lead content developer, I produced 1000s of pages of curriculum, multi-media content, marketing collateral, grants, and RFPs, while also driving the operations and representing the company at conferences and on expert panels. After Orion's Mind's success, I decided to introduce Destination Imagination (DI), an international creative problem-solving competition to Chicago's North Shore. Within three years, I created the fastest-growing region globally. While other regions were shrinking, DI grew from an unknown entity to 52 teams with more than 250 participants, 100+ volunteer Training Managers, and the largest Illinois program.Notably, I organized and produced two regional DI tournaments hosting 700+ people in 2019 and 2020. Attendees remarked at how seamless the events ran, especially in the clarity of the communications and the event logistics.I leveraged my talents to unite behind a common cause as the volunteer director of a parent run theatrical production. Dedicating 100s of hours, I united 160+ amateur writers, actors, dancers, and stage-support, to produce the largest show in its 40-year run--28% bigger than any prior casts. With the common goal of cultivating community and supporting students, my creative vision came to life. An expert in content development, team management, project execution, and program growth, I possess the foundation for future career success as a knowledge building evangelist.
