Work on the annual update of the EUROMOD model for Cyprus, in collaboration with the Fiscal Policy Analysis Unit of the EU Joint Research Centre. The key tasks include the updating of the tax and benefit policy rules in the EUROMOD model for Cyprus for the given year, constructing the input data from the EU-SILC dataset, and performing macrovalidation analysis. Also, preparing the corresponding annual report that documents the way in which the Cyprus tax-benefit system is modelled for the given year.

Develop econometric, microsimulation, and other quantitative tools relevant for the evaluation of policies implemented by the Cyprus Ministry of Labour, Welfare, and Social Insurance. Among the projects undertaken, one involved the construction of a database with information on the beneficiaries of the Guaranteed Minimum Income scheme in Cyprus based on administrative records, and the visualisation of key features of that data.

Implement an impact assessment for the introduction of a national minimum wage in Cyprus. Apply microsimulation methods using data from the EU-SILC dataset. Prepare a report with policy proposals regarding the various parameters of the National Minimum Wage policy based on the results obtained, e.g., with regard to the timing of the introduction, and the initial level.

Member of the research team working on the project ‘Employment in Europe’, funded by the ERC Advanced Grant 2012 (EUROEMP). Do research on the methodology of measurement of wage rigidities from microeconomic data on wages. Also undertake empirical research on the extent of wage rigidities in Europe (Germany and Spain) using administrative (social security) micro data on wages.
