About Pari Sabety

Now following my passion by advising US Digital Response on matching pro bono technologists with government to solve their most challenging problems. I come to this work after over 25 years experience as a CFO in government and higher education, and serving as a cabinet member and senior executive staff to two governors.My background is in finance transformation and public administration in in government for the State of Illinois, San Francisco, Detroit, the State of Washington and Government of Alberta, as well as higher education. As the Director of the Office of Budget and Management of the State of Ohio, I lead a statewide implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system transforming finance and administrative functions. Ohio Shared Services, built to leverage the state's ERP, remains the largest shared services initiative for back-office operations in US state government.I have also served as Vice Chancellor and CFO for Antioch University and am proud to be a Fellow and Founding Director of the Urban Markets Initiative of the Brookings Institution. My certifications include CPA designation, a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and an M.B.A. from Rutgers, along with an Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, specializing in Arab Studies.Board Chair of the Center for Civic Design, focused on addressing design issues in election administration and democracy. Active volunteer for US Digital Response, creating rapid response tools to help government perform at its best for its citizens.
