Contracted to work on a Mortgage Application Point of Sale web project.Created an API and Web test framework from scratch using a framework design laid out in my github project. Helped the team transform into a testing forward agile process.Converted to Full Time Senior SDET after 6 months.Moved to a "POD" team for BECU to try out a hyper agile team. On this team I had the opportunity to start a new project with all my recommended best practices from the start. Delivered an entirely new product 'Digital Envelopes' to a set of Beta users within six months, during which I: - Worked with the Senior Engineer to design the application in a modular fashion so we controlled all test data to exercise business cases - Defined team processes to prioritize testing, and test automation. - Delivered over a 500 automated test cases(which grew over the course of a year to over a thousand) across API and UI that runs in it's entirely under an hour, and tests every aspect of the system. - Needed no manual testing before releases. - Advocated for and clearly communicated testing requirements for all new features during product planning. - Wrote a white paper with the lead developer about our engineering practices for the education of the entire technical organization across BECU.

Contracted through TekSystems as an SDET at Lowes. Supported three websites: atgstores.com(Later themine.com), lowes.ca and lowesforpros.com. Converted to full time position as a senior test lead.While focusing on TheMine.com took an unstable existing test suite (more than 50% failure rate), and worked with the team to make it reliable. Created libraries to record all test run in a database and identify trends for unstable test cases. Simplified test data creation by inserting test users directly into the databases instead of going through UI and creating them, as had been done previously.Responsible for Test Automation through selenium, test plans, code reviews, release support, regression testing, scrum planning, etc.

Contracted through TekSystems to work as an SDET on the STARTS team at Microsoft. Team did certification style testing, and I created tools and processes to assist the team. Focused on automating interactions with TFS and Windows Universal Applications. Tools were created using C#, XML, WIQL and more.

UI automation: Using a framework built upon Selenium I would create automation to cover new features as they were created and filling testing holes in existing features. This automation was done in Java using eclipse as the code editor. Security: Amazon hired a 3rd party company to perform penetration testing. I was responsible for working with the company. I trained them in the project, triaged security issues found, and hosted the weekly meeting with them and the devs. Additionally I worked with a team in Hyderabad to complete security certification for their project. Pipeline stability: In order to achieve the company wide goal of continuous deployment, I was responsible for stabilizing the tests. This involved daily investigation of failures, stabilization of less reliable tests and daily/weekly reports on the progress. On-call duties: All team members would rotate being on-call. During my on-call weeks I would carry a pager with me at all times, and would handle any high severity issues that would come up as quickly as possible. These problems could range from pipeline blockages, high severity production issues, or ongoing requirements for the team. Mobile testing and automation: Using the same framework built on selenium and using user agents we created tests to run against the mobile version of the site. Additionally using Appium we were able to have these same tests run on actual devices. Using this we added both Android and IOS devices to our daily test runs. Automation training for Developers: In order to achieve the company wide goal of moving to a continuous deployment model, I worked with the other QA members to train the development team to write automation for the features as they were being worked on. As a result my team and project became the standard in the group.

Contracting to Microsoft to improve UX automation in the developer portal for xbox live using Coded UI.

I am a test engineer for Microsoft Pinpoint. I focused in the user interface testing, the syndication feeds, using OData queries and Atom feed formattting. I have also been focused on security testing for online services and test automation for both user interfaces and public and private APIs.

Contracted through Volt Technical Resources to work in the Microsoft Reliability team. Job tasks included running test passes on new Windows builds, writing the test framework in C#, as well as debugging problems and contacting the dev team needed to address the issue. The test automation ran end user scenarios to ensure stability and prevent regression of any resolved bugs.

Contracted through Volt Technical Resources to work at Microsoft on Halo 2 Vista. Focused on UI coding in C++. Employed from November 2006 until the project completed March 2007.
