Iโm a professional shoe string. What does a professional shoe string do? Bring things together. Not just people, but ideas and situations. If I had a super power Iโd say it was x-ray vision and telekinesis because I can see underlying commonalities between seemingly unrelated things and connect them from across the room. The technical title is โPositioning Consultantโ, but thatโs boring. Telling someone Iโm a โProfessional Shoe Stringโ is a way more interesting ice breaker.See? Ice broken. To make it simple though, look down at your shoe. Go on. On one side you have a client who wants more revenue. On the other, potential customers with a list of things they look for in a brand (and a ton of cash). In the middle, running back and forth through Portals of Opportunity on both sides, itโs-a me. When the market conditions are right I use various brand and business development tools to pull both sides together, marrying the clientโs brand with the customerโs cash.Interestingly enough, growing up I always said โI want to design houses and everything in themโ so I spent the entirety of my childhood taking everything apart to figure out how it worked and how it could work better. โWhy?โ and โHow?โ were my go to questions. Understand the why and you can influence it with a better how. Then I discovered there was a term for it - engineering. Better became more efficient and always more efficient was the goal. Then I discovered I could โengineerโ other things like thoughts and situations and influence how people interacted with other things. At that point I wasnโt sure if I was going to be a super villain to the status quo or an entrepreneur, so I decided to start a company that engineers outcomes so I can be both.Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
