This new business unit was to take all of US Communications high profile clients and convert them from the US Communications Agent business to the Ameritel MVNO business model. Mr. Holt was recruited away from Southwestern Bell Mobile to head up product development. Responsibilities were to create new cellular rate plans and promotions in all Frontier territories and take back the penetration from Southwestern Bell Mobile. He was also later asked to manage the wholesale / MVNO channel of distribution and deployed some of the nation’s first MVNOs, such as Time Warner. Mr. Holt also worked on special projects for the CEO of the parent company Frontier Communications. Accomplishments: >> Increased average revenue per user (ARPU) by over 25%.>> Decreased monthly churn by 15%. >> Increased market penetration by 7.5%.>> Created and innovative feature program which allowed customers to pick and choose the features they wanted attached to their cellular rate plan. >> Won CTIA Product of the year with "Dime Plan" which was a flat rate $.10 per minute plan giving customers 50% discount from current market rates. The strategy was to better commoditize cellular phone service and make it more affordable for the general population instead of just for the business elite. This increased demand and lowered costs and providing for an increase in net profit per customer. Six months into the new program, Frontier Cellular posted its quarterly financial results to CTIA Wireless and due to the program's financial success, carriers across the country followed suit and lowered their retail rates. This led to a dramatic increase in US wireless penetration and overall drop in cellular per minute rates. -

Mr. Holt was responsible for consumer rate plan and promotional development and worked closely with senior members of the billing and operational team to ensure that billing and rating was implemented accurately and was customer-friendly. Accomplishments: >> Responsible for bringing the company from a 50% market penetration to 60% penetration. >> Drove average revenue up by over 12% by lowering rates and driving phone suppliers like Motorola and Nokia to add more features to their phones.>> Decreased churn by 22% through the launching of a special customer retention program. >> Recruited to work on special projects for the CEO, John Stupka and Charles Foster SBC group president of unregulated divisions.>> Was recruited to be a part of a special teams group called Project Falcon which was responsible for determining if SBC would enter the local loop marketplace and ultimately allow SBC to bundle 3 – 4 telecom services together on one bill and with substantial discounts to the end consumer.>> Created the financial model with appropriate demand elasticity to determine a “go” or “no go” decision on the project. SBC approved the project and started bundling multiple telecom services on one convergent bill. SBC's change to billing convergence provided leadership for many other competing carriers in the space and ultimately led to the telecom billing convergence trend.
