I serve as the student clerk on the Federal Relations team within UCLA’s Government and Community Relations department. Born in Long Beach, California, I was recognized there with Congressman Robert Garcia’s staff at the 15th Anniversary Designation of Cambodia Town. In addition, I received the Cambodia Town Scholarship for volunteering to translate documents for people in need. Furthermore, I was a recipient of the ALBEM scholarship within my high school district, as I discuss my story of being raised as a child of Khmer Rouge survivors and my decision to attend UCLA as a first-generation college student within my family. My interest in analyzing political data, geography, and advancement in technology has led me to pursue a Sociology B.A. and Minor in Social Data Science & Public Affairs. I am currently looking for a data analysis/legal/government internship this upcoming summer.In my free time I enjoy watching basketball due to playing all four years in high school as a forward. Additionally, I'm an avid hiker and fisher preferably venturing in nearby LA areas. Furthermore I am a beginner kickboxer who is progressively learning new techniques.
