As a summa cum laude graduate of Missouri University of Science & Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, my career journey has been diverse and enriching. Starting in manufacturing, then research, and sales, I have now pivoted towards a passion for software development – a field I was drawn to during my undergraduate years. The joy of creating functional solutions fuels my daily enthusiasm and commitment to continually learn in the field of programming.My transition from chemical engineering was enabled by independently completing The Odin Project (TOP), a comprehensive and rigorous open-source web development curriculum. This program, which covers a broad spectrum of essential skills including Git, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Node, solidified my capabilities in building fast, responsive websites. The journey through TOP was not just about acquiring technical skills but also about developing a deeper understanding of the web development landscape.My professional background is rich and varied. At Brewer Science, as a Lab Assistant Intern, I honed my analytical skills and collaborated effectively with a research team. My NSF-funded REU at the University of Missouri led to the co-authorship of a materials engineering research paper. In a Manufacturing Technology Co-op role at DuPont, I showcased my project management skills by orchestrating a comprehensive plant trial and conducting in-depth data analysis.The skills I've cultivated from my engineering background – innovation, problem-solving, collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail – are assets I bring to the programming domain.
