I was nominated to serve as the lone PA student representative on an AAPA House of Delegates Task Force.

I was appointed to the AAPA Leadership & Diversity Student Committee to serve as a representative for the AAPA Student Academy Board of Directors. As a part of this student committee, we were tasked with reviewing Student Academy leadership documents, developing an SAR onboarding program, and contributing ideas for the 2023 Leadership Panel.

I served as one of eleven PA students on the AAPA Student Academy Board of Directors as a part of my elected position of AAPA Student Academy South Central Regional Director. The AAPA Student Academy Board of Directors is a cohesive group of motivated PA student leaders who serve together to represent the best interests of all PA students across the nation. As a member of the Student Academy Board of Directors, I was blessed to attend AAPA Leadership & Advocacy Summit 2022 in Washington DC as well as AAPA Conference 2023 in Nashville, TN.

I was formally elected as AAPA Student Academy South Central Regional Director by PA students throughout the nine state area which makes up the South Central Region. During my time in this position, I served as the point of contact between AAPA and 38 PA programs throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.My responsibilities were as follows: • Communicated AAPA resources and information regarding leadership opportunities, student member benefits, and advocacy efforts to the Student Academy Representatives (SARs) of each PA program within my region • Encouraged SARs within my region to register their PA program's student society with the AAPA Student Academy• Built relationships with SARs of established PA programs within my region• Formed relationships with SARs of new PA programs within my region• Attended monthly Board of Director meetings and quarterly SAR meetings

I was selected as one of twenty-five PA students to represent the interests of PA students across the nation in the AAPA House of Delegates at AAPA Conference 2022 in Indianapolis, IN. For those unfamiliar with the AAPA House of Delegates, I have included a description from the AAPA website below: "The House of Delegates (HOD) articulates the shared values, beliefs, and professional wisdom of PAs from all corners of the greater AAPA community. Made up of representatives from AAPA’s constituent organizations and Student Academy, the HOD enacts policies and position statements on behalf of the profession." Additionally, I co-authored a policy paper with several of my student delegate colleagues centered around reducing undue barriers to entry for students applying to PA school. This policy paper was presented in the AAPA House of Delegates and officially voted into the AAPA bylaws.
