About Erica Parker
My doctoral research focused on the design and synthesis of small-molecule, thiosemicarbazone based inhibitors of cathepsin L as potential anti-metastatic agents. Guided, in part, by structure activity relationship considerations, we were successful in the discovery and development of several low nanomolar inhibitors of cathepsin L that are undergoing further biological evaluation as potential pre-clinical candidates. My postdoctoral research currently focuses on the development of antimicrobial agents for problematic gram-negative bacteria.
