Focused on the intersection of FHIR, Machine Learning, and Value-Based Care.During my time at Elevance I had the privilege of curating one of the larger normalized healthcare datasets in the world: our Longitudinal Patient Record, a FHIR R4 Bundle across over 50m members. It didn’t take long to recognize that all data are not created equal, and that without independent, standardized data quality framework, we’ll all be rowing in different directions. In this role, my first as an IC, I spent half my time programming and half my time researching and establishing context. It was been an amazing opportunity to develop the bottoms-up healthcare expertise required to authentically “lead from the front” in a deeply complex problem space.

• Scaled team from 2 to 20 people; implemented agile product process; hired Head of Product and Head of Data; managed internal and offshore teams.• Led platform migration from legacy monolith to a distributed architecture on AWS; implemented CI/CD pipelines.• Designed & delivered virtual care platform, including queue-based matching algorithm, on-time and on-budget.• Built data pipelines across organization combining our medical, financial, and operational datasets.• Absorbed health engineering fundamentals: HIPAA security & compliance, RCM analysis, EMR integrations.

Built an AI-enabled logistics provider that leveraged data science, NLP, and our bot “Archie” to automate the discovery and coordination of fragmented and tech-resistant truckers. Raised $5m, grew team to 20 FTE, and launched three internal products that doubled our team's ability to source and book truckload freight. Started freshman year of college, and over eight year period scaled to 50 locations, 12 states, and a remote team of 180 part-time employees. Growth and consistency was enabled by developing a two-sided scheduling automation platform. Our platform, which I had built with Ruby on Rails, AngularJS, Stripe, and Twilio, launched in 2014 and achieved 20x labor productivity gains. Also got really into data mining and funnel automation. Used bots to mine leads, once the user created an account SMS bots would nurture the customer through checkout. Strategy increased conversion from 27% to 64% over 3 year period.
