Directly responsible for the management and execution of all facets of the design and construction for each commercial shipbuilding program at General Dynamics NASSCO. These efforts include approximately $2B of work to be executed between 2012-2020. This includes leading the effort to design and build the first LNG-powered containerships in the world. This also includes delivering 10 large, commercial Jones Act ships in a period of 20 months between 2015 and mid-2017. All programs executed in close collaboration with industry-leading Korean shipbuilding and ship design companies, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Daewoo Ship Engineering Company (DSEC).Responsible for all business development efforts associated with commercial shipbuilding and conversion programs. This includes design efforts associated with conversion of two Jones Act trailerships to use LNG as the primary fuel source. Over a five-year period, NASSCO secured 12 new build ship orders worth approximately $2B for U.S. coastwise Jones Act trade.Program management responsibilities include: primary customer interface, regulatory body interface, contract administration, cost estimating, change and configuration control, design, detailed planning, supply chain, subcontractor management, quality and inspection, cost and schedule performance, and internal/external reporting including regular briefings in person to Corporate CEO-level.
