I understand that communication skills are vital for personal and professional success, especially when working with high-performing clients and colleagues where quality and deadlines are both paramount. My communication skills are advanced due to my role as a tennis coach throughout high school. In this role I taught people of all ages. Communicating with all types of people is a skill that has accompanied me past my high school experiences and into my professional career. During my two summer internships at the international commercial real estate firm, Colliers, I was required to communicate with numerous teams including Brokerage, Property Management, and Accounting, as well as the equivalent teams in other cities. I also worked alongside top performing sales agents to develop proposals and presentations to clients. Within these teams, I managed the data for 1,000 properties exceeding 80 million square feet and performed analysis on this data. I have experience communicating this complex data into simple terms to aid agents and clients in making superior business decisions.During my second year at the company, I was tasked with, and self-started, several independent projects which required problem solving skills. One of these included a process improvement project with the purpose of finding issues in a current inventory management system, where I used current state-mapping techniques to find an innovative solution, resulting in satisfied agents and clients. Another example is when I converted a challenge into an opportunity for a broker who needed out-of-the-ordinary information, by forming a relationship with the municipal government’s planning office. In analyzing data, I used a large Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Microsoft Excel, and PowerBi.My experience at Colliers made me realize I enjoyed the challenges and creativity required to work with a collaborative team, and the learning that came with these challenges. As well, due to my personality and efforts to learn and self-improve, the team I worked with was complimentary about my upbeat attitude, curious and proactive mindset, and the inclusive interpersonal and technical skills I contributed.
