I worked in region 4, mainly at the UAB Medical West job site, learning how to become more advanced in P6, learning about all building components, and learning about the process and role of scheduling. This included helping build a few schedules, assisting in updating and managing the Med West schedule, sitting in on subcontractor meetings, and performing schedule updates and changes to become more fluent in P6.

This included attending P6 basic training, assisting in schedule updates, writing narratives, and building a hypothetical schedule for practice. I also got the opportunity to visit a couple of the jobs, of which I provided assistance.

I worked in region 4 at the Birmingham office, calling and gauging subcontractor interest in bids, performing quantity take-off to plug into estimates for pricing, and spending some time learning about Sage estimating software. During this term I learned about a lot of the work that takes place before construction begins, how to talk to subcontractors, and how to perform quantity take-off.

I worked on interior renovations at the Grandview Medical Center, helping keep the areas clean, as well as the halls of the hospital. I also helped with small tasks assigned to me by my foreman. This job helped me learn more about components of interior construction build outs.

I worked at the Plant Miller job site in Quinton, Alabama. I mainly managed the drawings, RFIs and material logs. I completed other miscellaneous tasks throughout the semester, brought to me by my supervisor. I also spent time outside on the job site, learning mostly about the concrete process.
