• Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager responsible for all NPD on all projects commercial and technical.• Robust vendor management ensuring suppliers are meeting the agreed level of performance; i.e. most competitive quotes, maintain the agreed level of quality standards without affecting delivery of parts.• Review and agree commercial contracts with vendors i.e. sourcing plans, tooling agreements, guarantees and payment terms.• Ensure suppliers are supplying parts to the correct quality standards; ensure uninterrupted continuous supply of components to Siemens Factory in the UK.• Analyze supplier quotes for both divisions of the company for cockpits, (customer funded) and fuel systems, (Capex expenditure).• Analyze all tooling and part quotes for the purchasing team to ensure best costs are negotiated.• Review/negotiate contract terms and conditions with supply base.• Working with Low Cost Country souring in Eastern Europe and Asia on new projects as well as moving existing projects from main land Europe.• Auditing new suppliers and attending customer meetings.• Working with design and project teams as part of the purchasing team to ensure best tooling and part designs are achieved, focusing on VA/VE.• Attend all tooling trials with suppliers to ensure best part manufacture and develop suppliers as required on complex projects. • Assisted manufacturing, SQA, suppliers and toolmakers on production modifications. • Cost savings were made on tooling/machinery; on average 25%, (Capex spend of £2M and £10M customer funded) and 15% saving on component costs, (Spend of 13M).
