I served as a Principal Engineer to Boston’s based consulting firm CDM Smith in San Antonio. I oversaw business development and operations in South Texas. As a Registered Texas Professional Engineer with over 16 years of experience, I was responsible for $5M+ of Engineering Portfolio, encompassing Water, Transportation, Energy, and Facilities. My duties extended to business development, government affairs, client service, and overall project performance. For three years, I also assisted with government relations for more than ten Governor offices throughout the United States.With regards to sustainable design, I served as one of eight members of CDM Smith’s Sustainability Delivery Team from 2007 to 2010 in charge of the Civil Engineering-Sustainability Discipline, where I coordinated research in green stormwater infrastructure, rain gardens, and pervious pavement. I have directed a vast range of projects ranging from water & wastewater treatment plants, to new transportation operations facilities, to flood control structures & bridges, among many others.As part of over 11 years of total work with the firm, I am particularly proud to have assisted the community of St Tammany Parish in Louisiana to recover from the destruction that Hurricane Katrina left in 2005. For over two years in a $300+ million recovery effort, I managed two disaster recovery field offices, while training and supervising a team of ten people on the structural, legal, ticketing/invoicing, and customer service departments. We worked hand in hand with our field staff of 150+ monitors. Together, we helped the community by processing nearly 5000 applications for debris removal, over 500 for home demolitions, and more than 3000 notices for blighted houses. I also served as the liaison between our client and regulatory & funding agencies such as FEMA and the State.

I served as a Professor at a technical college in Venezuela teaching Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics. I was fortunate to have an audience of low-income youth with high drop-out risk. Most of these kids worked to support their studies. I was able to make a connection, become their mentor, and serve as a tool to help them get their best out, so they could become not only capable professionals, but successful ones.

Developed a digital geographic map of a 5600-acre rural property for a private party in Carora, Venezuela, using GIS-WAAS technology. This job included irrigation and drainage design of a 100-acre land for farming purposes.Design of a TELCEL telecommunication center for a private party in Dabajuro, Venezuela.
