Generation of a data visualization platform for the academic project "Distributive national accounts for Latin America" with Ignacio Flores, based in income and wealth inequality estimations from the World Inequality Database.

• Collaborated in the journalistic investigation "Matar al otro" ("Kill the other"), a CIP UDP collaboration with Vergara 240 and CIPER Chile about the rise of homicides in Chile.• Analyzed and processed a database with police cases of consummated murder between 2010 and 2021, provided by the Crime Prevention Undersecretary.• I produced an interactive visualization in Tableau that was published in the investigation. The visualization included the geographic distribution of crimes on a map, murders per year, and types of homicides committed.

• Analysed and generated data for the FONDECYT project 1211273, "Technological Change and Political Competition", with Francisco Pino (University of Chile - COES) and Laura Salisbury (York University).• Programmed an algorithm in Python to generate the most likely routes US candidates took by train during political campaigns, crossing data obtained from 19th century newspapers and railway network.• Generated a US counties dataset which identifies if they were part of the route of the candidates and merged it with electoral and census data to estimate in Stata the effect of campaigning on turnout.

• Co-authored a two-part investigation for CIPER Chile (Journalistic Investigation Centre) about the situation of 174 zones in Santiago abandoned by public and private services and where drug trafficking is common.• Analysed, cleaned and consolidated a dataset with over 18,000 services with their address to geolocate each one of them with the Google Maps’s Geocoding API in Python.• Coded an algorithm to estimate the number of services inside each neglected zone and in a 1 km radius outside the area using the Pandas, Geopandas and Shapely libraries in Python.• Coded an algorithm to estimate the walking distance from each zone to the nearest services using the Shapely library and Google Maps’s Distance Matrix API in Python.• Developed an interactive visualisation in Tableau to be published alongside the investigation which included exploration with maps and charts based on the information generated in Python (over 130,000 views).• "Patricia Verdugo" and "Premio Periodismo de Excelencia" award winner. • Contributed as part of a group of four working with the City Economics team in a study of the relationship between city networks and economic performance: theory and cases to help Northern England.• Analysed, collected and processed databases to compare economic, institutional and transport variables for the North with regions of Italy, the Netherlands and Japan.• Designed multiple visualisations in Tableau with the processed data: graphs, transport infrastructure maps, population density maps and flow maps to represent commuting in the four cases.• Conducted research about national initiatives to improve performance of the North.• Interviewed academics and relevant stakeholders from England and Italy.
