Acted as the Department of Corrections (DOC) New Prison Construction Junction City Prison Project and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project Communication Liaison. I provided communication solutions to enhance relationships that leverage long-term outcomes and built lasting partnerships. Acting as the primary communications conduit between project activities and in conjunction with DOC/OHA management project teams, I regularly interfaced with elected officials, multiple agencies, community members, media, and stakeholders responsible for the development of the 52-million-dollar infrastructure project as well as construction and startup of the state hospital and future prisons located in Junction City.

Provided close, confidential executive management-level support to the superintendent. The position managed and supervised the facility’s mailroom start-up and operation. As Public Information Officer, I managed media inquiry and developed programs designed to educate and assist with recruitment, public awareness and the general operations of Oregon prisons. I provided union advice and counsel on contract administration matters to section heads; performed employee discipline, grievance investigations. My position was directly responsible to the Deer Ridge Correctional Institution (DRCI) Superintendent as an assistant for the management of executive services in critical and specialized areas that cross the assistant superintendents for security, program services, and general services lines of authority. The position is DRCI liaison to Personnel/Labor Relations Division. The position is also a key participant in Executive Management Team, Operations Committee, as well as DRCI's volunteer coordinator and served on many ad-hoc committees.

This position Performed as the Community Development Coordinator for the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) New Prison Construction Community Development Program. I was a member of multiple project teams and responsible for working with multiple communities, throughout the State of Oregon, in all stages of prison facility planning, construction, and start-up operations. My position coordinated the develop of partnerships between the DOC and communities to identify technical assistance and funding sources for local infrastructure, potential inmate work opportunities and partnerships with other state and federal agencies. I assisted with the forming of advisory boards as well as coordinated their activity. I also participated in and helped organize job fairs and other workshops associated with assisting the communities to prepare for the impacts of new or expanded facilities, and to take advantage of business development and employment opportunities. I was also responsible for implementing DOC policy regarding community development and related prison site pre-development and acquisition activities. I acted as an on-going liaison on behalf of the project team(s) for communications with the community, including media, city and county government, businesses, other public entities, and the community at large.

Jefferson County, Or

Oversaw the operations of this 300 member organization and coordinated the activities of over 800 volunteers. The primary function of the position was to champion commercial and industrial business at all levels of government and area attraction. The position also managed the county's only industrial economic enterprise zone and assisted with its achievement of "shovel ready" status.
