-The role of Store Stock/Support Associate taught me valuable lessons in the preparation of a store, presentation and maintenance wise. It also taught me about how far pleasant customer interactions can go. - I excelled so much that I was requested (and worked) at five different locations, also helping set up a new location. I was often told by customers that they only wanted to retrieve their items when I was on duty.- Working closely with the Visual Merchandiser on floor plans.- In 2019, my stock team was deemed to be the best by far in a company-wide inventory competition in which inventory accuracy and outbound shipping quality was tested.- The position catered to those with attention to detail, teamwork and the ability to problem solve. Responsibilities of the position were as follows.The Loading and unloading of trailers containing store merchandise as well as customer orders. - Packing and shipping of furniture items that have been purchased directly from the sales floor. Creation of “invoices” and writing of emails to ensure the items reach the customer.- Furniture assembly and placement on the showroom sales floor in close coordination with the merchandiser of the store.- Using the inventory tracking system to check intake manifests for store merchandise and customer orders. Communicating with regional management and distribution centers directly to correct any inventory issues.- Acting as the final impression on customers for the company by loading furniture and accessories into customer vehicles and offering advice on assembly.- Overall building maintenance such as replacing roof tiles, lights, inspecting fire extinguishers, waste management, electrical troubleshooting, safety issues etc.- Keeping the warehouse and showroom organized; Often rearranging the store in accordance to style guides.- Assistance with sales and customers through knowledge of the merchandise, gained by being the person who assembles it.
