I have taught 5th grade at Explorer Academy, an EL Network school, in Huntington, WV for four years. I was responsible for the planning, development, and implementation for EL and Expedition curriculum, which includes Crew, Core Math / ELA, Interventions, and ALL-Block, to mixed-ability students. I was also responsible for ongoing assessment, frequent communication with parents, documentation of interventions, modification, and accommodations for all students, including those receiving special education services. Other skills include integration of 21st century technology skills, incorporating trauma-based strategies, classroom management strategies, and frequent collaboration within my grade level team and cross-curricular specialists, and different grade level colleagues implementation of research-based and age-appropriate strategies, through ongoing professional development. I am starting my new position at Central City Elementary School as a 4th grade teacher beginning in August 2020.

I am the founder and co-producer of Funktafest, a yearly one-day funky music festival held at the Ritter Park Amphitheater in Huntington, WV.

Taught Chemistry I to hundreds of mixed-ability students at Huntington High School. I designed and implemented chemistry curriculum, organized and participated in hands-on experiments, designed creative projects and activities, and evaluated mixed-ability students in a variety of course settings: conceptual chemistry, general chemistry, and honors chemistry.

I taught ninth grade physical science to a large diverse group of mixed-ability students in the Freshman Academy at Huntington High School for three years. Designed and implemented curriculum, performed hands-on activities, and assessed academic progress for aforementioned students.

I taught general science at Beverly Hills Middle School for two years to a diverse group of mixed-ability eighth grade students. Designed and implemented curriculum, performed hands-on activities, and assessed academic progress for aforementioned students.

I taught 6th and 7th grade CATS (Coordinated And Thematic Science) to a diverse group of mixed-ability students at West Middle School for four years. Designed and implemented curriculum, performed hands-on activities, and assessed academic progress for aforementioned students.
