Mr. Mistry led a team of city staff and provided support on the stormwater and sanitary sewer consent decree contract for the City of Baltimore and AECOM. Mr. Mistry provided engineering services in the renewal of aging infrastructure, justified infrastructure investments, provided transparency of the true cost of operating a utility system, and effectively managed limited resources. Mr. Mistry analyzed CCTV data of gravity sewer lines, force mains, pumping stations and other appurtenances (e.g., manholes, pressure sewers, inverted siphons, meter vaults), to provide for the proper operation and maintenance of equipment while minimizing failures, malfunctions, and line blockages due to the lack of adequate preventative care. Mr. Mistry reviewed data for over 1000 miles of sewer/storm mains and over 3000 manholes. Summer Internship NPDES IDDE Inspections, Prince George's County, MD. - Performed outfall inspection services to aid Prince George’s County in illicit discharge enforcement. Outfalls into open system channels were located, samples were taken, and chemical tests were performed onsite. Chemical testing including evaluating levels of fluoride, ammonia, detergents, phenol, copper, pH, chlorine, and turbidity. If levels of any of the tested items were found to be outside of thresholds samples were delivered to labs for more thorough testing and efforts were made to back trace the pollutant source through the upstream storm drain system. All discovered violations were reported to County for enforcement. NPDES BMP Inspections, Prince George's County, MD. - Performed BMP inspection services to aid Prince George’s County in NPDES permit enforcement. Various facilities including wet ponds, extended detention structures, swales, bio-retention, and structural practices were inspected and documented in GIS databases. Mr. Mistry reviewed as-built construction plans prior-to and during inspections to assess if facilities were operating as designed and inspections were documented within concise reports including photographs for delivery to individual property owners. Facilities deemed out of compliance during initial inspections were re-inspected post property owner notification. Reports were reviewed concurrently with as-built plans to ensure all facility deficiencies were noted in reports and documented properly with photographs.
