Parth Pandhare Email and Phone Number
Hi! My name is Parth Pandhare and I'm a computer engineer!I'm really passionate about embedded systems and FPGA/ASIC design. My projects include making games on FPGAs, creating maze solving robots, and many more! I also love teaching others about engineering, and am currently on the IEEE at UCLA board. I've helped run a project, and helped start projects in other schools and universities! Aside from engineering, I also enjoy playing chess, badminton, acrylic painting, and love to participate in debate!

Applications Engineering InternStmicroelectronics Jun 2024 - PresentSanta Clara, California, United States- Responsible for building applications for the automotive field- Programmed sinusoidal encoder drivers for electric vehicle PMSM motors and integrated it with a Field Oriented Control algorithm on StellarE automotive MCU- Created Battery Management System Demo with features including cell monitoring, cell balancing, over/under current protection, and state of charge/state of health monitoring- Optimized time-critical functions on a dual-core MCU using CPU cache prefetching, multiprocessing with shared memory IPC, running functions out of RAM, and using an FPU; increased execution speed by over 75% -
Projects And Lab ManagerIeee Student Branch At Ucla May 2024 - PresentLos Angeles, California, United States- Oversaw 5 technical projects with 10 leads and 300+ members, providing technical and organizational guidance - Supervised lab space and aided club members use tools such as oscilloscopes and soldering stations to complete projects- Co-directed IDEAHacks (yearly hardware hackathon) operations committee of 7 people; standardized parts checkout process and made part usage guides for hackathon participants -
Digital Design, Architecture, And Verification Project MemberIeee Student Branch At Ucla Sep 2023 - May 2024Los Angeles, California, United States- Developed a 2 player fighting game (based on streetfighter) on Altera DE10-Lite FPGA board- Completed labs on digital signal processing, VGA display driver using pingpong RAM, and NES controller driver- Constructed game logic drivers and implemented sprite graphics and attacks than update based on NES controller inputs -
Micromouse Project LeadIeee Student Branch At Ucla May 2023 - May 2024Los Angeles, California, United States- Lead year-long project aimed at teaching 70+ UCLA engineering students the fundamentals of embedded programming with STM32 microcontrollers, circuit and PCB design with Autodesk Fusion360, and soldering.- Created 6 lectures on topics including circuit design, part selection, PID feedback control systems, and complex maze solving algorithms like floodfill.- Hosted design reviews and workshops to help students perfect their PCB designs and debug their STM32 boards.- Assisted 4 colleges initiate their own micromouse program through the creation of an outreach curriculum (Micromouse 2.0) that guides students in building their first micromouse.- Organized the 2024 Inter-collegiate All American Micromouse Competition with participants from 6 universities -
MicromouseIeee Student Branch At Ucla Sep 2022 - May 2023Los Angeles, California, United States- Created a micromouse autonomous maze solving robot in a team of 3. - Designed custom PCBs using KiCad, Eagle, and Altium. - Programmed and tuned a PID control system based on encoder readings, IR sensor values, and gyroscope measurements. - Learned how to use STM32's DMA and ADC to read sensor data. Used embedded C on an STM32 board to program the floodfill maze solving algorithm. - Developed I2C software to obtain accelerometer and gyroscope readings from an MPU6050 IMU- Won 3rd place in the 2023 All American Micromouse Competition, 2nd place in the 2024 All American Micromouse Competition -
Undergraduate ResearcherThe Laboratory For Embedded Machines And Ubiquitous Robots At Ucla Dec 2022 - Dec 2023Los Angeles, California, United States- Helped develop features for the EDG-IDE, an experimental circuit design IDE. - Developed the BOM tool that sweeps the schematic, makes a BOM, and saves it in a .csv file for use with JLCPCB. - Utilized python's pickle library to create a KiCad plugin to accelerate workflow by allowing the user to save PCB hierarchies and reuse them in similar boards in the future. - Contributed to the Design Space Exploration (DSE) project which provides users with a DSE graph to compare different components that can achieve the same purpose for optimal part selection. Specifically, I implemented the price objective function and the infrastructure for users to write their own objective functions to compare any properties in the DSE graph. Paper accepted CHI 2024.

Summer Research InternUniversity Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill Jun 2021 - Sep 2021As a research intern, I helped conduct an audit study to explore the implicit racial bias in various employers across the country. Working with an international team, I learned the importance of collaboration & communication. I discovered the intricacies of conducting an audit study, including controlling variables and standardization. Furthermore, I was involved in the collection & categorization of large amounts of data while making sure that none of it confounded with the data that other interns were categorizing.
