Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategy: Develop & execute a data engineering strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals. Provide leadership & guidance to the data engineering team.Data Architecture: Define and maintain the data architecture, including data storage, data pipelines, data warehouses & data lakes. Ensure data is stored and managed efficiently & securely.Data Pipeline Management: Oversee the development & maintenance of data pipelines that collect, transform & load data from various sources into data warehouses or other storage solutions.Team Management: Manage a team of data engineers, data architects & other technical professionals. Recruit, train & mentor team members.Technology Selection: Stay updated on emerging technologies & trends in data engineering & analytics. Select & implement appropriate tools & technologies for data engineering needs.Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure data governance policies & compliance requirements are met. This includes data privacy regulations like GDPR & industry-specific compliance standards.Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including data science, analytics, and IT, to ensure data engineering solutions support the needs of the entire organization.Performance & Scalability: Optimize data engineering processes for performance and scalability as data volumes grow. Ensure that data is accessible and available when needed.Qualifications:Experience: Extensive experience in data engineering & related roles, typically requiring many years of experience in progressively responsible positions.Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data warehouses, database management systems & bigdata technologies like Hadoop and Spark.Leadership Skills: Proven leadership & management skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team, set a vision & execute a data engineering strategy.Strategic Thinking: The ability to align data engineering efforts with the overall business strategy & goals of the organization.Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams & convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges & optimize data engineering processes.Business Acumen: An understanding of the business context & how data engineering supports business objectives.Education: A bachelor's degree with more than 10+ years of relevant experience in Data field.
