Mohammad Mosiur Rahman is a PhD candidate at the Department of English and Communication, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He serves as a senior lecturer (on study leave) at the Department of English and Humanities, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). His interdisciplinary experience in the fields of sociolinguistics and TESOL has aided in the development of his research and teaching skills as a researcher and discourse analyst. Mosiur's current research is centered on critical theories of language, power, and social class. It focuses on language policy, ideologies, agency, and stakeholder identities. He is devoted to promoting anti-neoliberal and decolonial education, with a special emphasis on the issues of inequality that learners, instructors, and the community encounter as a result of language policies. Mosiur has disseminated his ideas through scholarly publication in international peer-reviewed journals such as the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, Applied Linguistics Review, Journal of Teacher Education, English Today, The Journal of Language, Identity and Education, Asian Englishes, English Teaching & Learning, The Journal of Asia TEFL, Issues in Educational Research, 3L: Language, Linguistics, Literature, and Open Linguistics. As a member of the Editorial Boards of Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education (Universiti Sains Malaysia Press), and Crossings: A Journal of English Studies (ULAB Press), he serves the broader community of applied linguistics and education researchers and practitioners. Mosiur was awarded the prestigious Postgraduate Research Scholarship by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to pursue his PhD. He was also one of two awardees of the Universiti Sains Malaysia Vice-Chancellor Award in 2019, and he received the university's second-highest scholarship for research students, the Universiti Sains Malaysia Fellowship, in 2018. Moreover, in 2016, while pursuing his MA in Applied Linguistics (research) at the Universiti Sains Malaysia, he received the Graduate Research Assistance Scheme. He has received several institutional-level awards for research and publications in top-tier journals.
