Investigative Analyst At Interpol Washington
Current• Performing complex digital enhancements of prints used for comparison to known exemplars; and searching, comparing and analyzing prints using an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS)• Planning, coordinating and conducting technical research projects; drafting and reviewing reports, recommendations, standard operating procedures and guidelines. Conducting training for developmental level specialists; and serving as a technical expert and liaison• Operate in shift work for 24-hour/7-days/365 day INTERPOL Operations Command Center (IOCC), the Foreign Notices Programs in Global Police Services, and other USNCB operational divisions• Generate electronic case files in INTERPOL Washington’s internal case management system, which includes data entry and uploading of preliminary investigative findings• Operate and transmit criminal investigative information through international and domestic telecommunication systems in response to routine investigative and humanitarian inquiries• Support Counterterrorism Unit by submitting and processing criminal foreign and domestic fingerprints through Federal Bureau of Investigations, Department of Homeland Security, and INTERPOL databases • Search intelligence and law enforcement databases such as US National Central Bureau (USNCB), National Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (NLETS), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), Treasury Enforcement Communication System (TECS), CLEAR, and INTERPOL I-24/7 and share information among international and national channels• Dispatch one of the highest numbers of inquiries (800) every month by all U.S. federal (FBI, DHS, U.S. Marshals, and U.S. Attorney’s Office), state, local, tribal, and foreign law enforcement agencies seeking criminal and administrative investigative assistance
