Hello! My name is Pasang Lama Tamang, and I am a proud first-generation college student originally from Nepal, now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Southern New Hampshire University, where I currently hold a perfect 4.0 GPA. My journey into the world of cybersecurity has been driven by a passion for safeguarding digital landscapes and a commitment to continuous learning.Currently, I serve as a SOC Analyst – Team Lead at CyberNow Labs, where I lead a team of 10 analysts in monitoring and securing critical systems using tools like IBM QRadar, Splunk, and Proofpoint. My role involves conducting dynamic phishing investigations, vulnerability assessments, and incident response, all while fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing and growth.Prior to this, I worked as a Backend Engineer at a Healthcare company. There, I was involved in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering, system analysis to development and performance testing. I collaborated closely with senior developers and QA professionals to ensure the successful deployment of software solutions. This experience sharpened my problem-solving abilities and deepened my understanding of backend systems and customer-facing solutions. Additionally, my background in Java programming and exposure to Python have equipped me with a strong foundation in coding and technical troubleshooting.In terms of technical skills, I have extensive experience with a broad array of security tools, including Tenable Nessus, Acunetix, and Wireshark. My expertise also spans across network virtualization, incident response, OSINT research, and cybersecurity frameworks like NIST and MITRE ATT&CK. This hands-on experience has allowed me to hone my skills by experimenting with various tools.I hold several key certifications, including CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity. My journey is fueled by relentless curiosity and desire to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical teams.Outside of cybersecurity, I love traveling and hiking, staying active, and constantly seeking out new challenges.
