In my role I am supporting Intel's endeavour to establish oneAPI toolkit as the best software development environment for heterogeneous computing. I am supporting customers from the HPC domain with knowledge on SYCL, Intel Distribution for GDB and oneCCL. At the same time, my own work serves to co-develop and enhance the concerned tools.Previously:I've been working for my PhD project at CERN. The project concerned a Monte Carlo simulation software for ultra-high vacuum problems. My contributions concern optimisations on the ray tracing-based algorithm, the development and design of a HPC based solution via MPI and a GPU kernel with full utilisation of modern ray tracing units as found in Nvidia RTX GPUs. Further, enhancements to the algorithms and data strucutures impacted the overall performance of the widely-used vacuum imulation software.During my studies for the bachelor and master degree I was involved for 2.5 years in a project regarding the development and verification of a mathematical model for multiphase flow.As the lead developer for the numerical software my decisions regarding the software design laid the foundation for further studies involved with the project. While working on the project I was able to gain a lot of experience in scientific programming (mathematics and physics) and could improve my understanding and technical skills regarding high performance computing.
